Dr. David Golden graduated with honors from Southern California College of Optometry in 1987. Prior to receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree he attended the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Golden completed his externship training at the Albuquerque Indian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. Immediately following Optometry School graduation, he was selected to become a full time Clinical Faculty at Southern California College of Optometry. In 1989, he joined his father to practice full time at Golden Optometric Group. His professional interests are primary patient care, bifocal/specialty contact lenses, and refractive surgery.
In 1996, Dr. Golden became a founding doctor of Aris Vision Institute, a leading provider of refractive surgeries throughout the world. He continues to participate in clinical research for new contact lenses and solutions and takes pride in mentoring young students who are interested in Optometry as their profession. He is a current member of the interviewing committee for admission to Southern California College of Optometry and is an active Director of PERC (Professional Eyecare Resource Co-Operative) based in Southern California.
Dr. Golden and his wife Sheila have been married since 1989 and have two wonderful daughters. He is an avid woodworker and spends much of his spare time building and restoring furniture, but whenever possible you can find him fishing with his dad and brothers in Alaska and Mexico.
